We’ve broken down some of the key league terms, acronyms, and words we use most often around here. Each term has its own LoL stat and breakdown to give you context on how to best use it.

10K GOLD TIME
The time at which a player reaches a total of 10,000 gold.
FBI had the fastest 10K Gold Time in 2021 LCS Spring at 18:38.

A

Assists
The total number of assists earned by a player or team.
Vulcan had an average of 11 assists at MSI 2021.

B

BLUES - Blue buffs
The number of blue buffs a player has taken (from either side of the map).
C9 took 39 blue buffs vs. TL's 19 blue buffs in the 2021 LCS Spring playoffs final.
BPP - Baron Power Play
The change in team gold difference from the start of baron buff to the end of baron buff.
C9 had the highest BPP in 2021 LCS Spring at +3,982 gold
BARON% - Baron Control
The portion of barons a team has killed out of how many total barons were killed in their games.
DAMWON Gaming had a 79.2% BARON% at Worlds 2020.
BARONS - Barons
The number of barons taken by a team.
Team Liquid took 3 barons at Worlds 2020.
BAN% - Ban Rate
Portion of games a champion was banned.
Renekton had a 67.7% ban rate at the LCS Mid-Season Showdown 2021.
BANS - Bans
Number of times a champion has been banned.
Udyr was banned 90 times during the LCS Spring 2021 Regular Season.

C

CS%15-30 - CS Share from 15 to 30
The portion of CS a player earns out of the total CS their team earns from 15-30 minutes.
WildTurtle's 33.2% CS%15-30 was the highest among all players during LCS Spring 2021
CSD - Creep Score Difference
The difference between a player's CS and their opponent's CS (e.g. top lane vs top lane).
Alphari had the highest CSD@15 in the LCS with 13.
CWP/M - Control Wards Purchased per Minute
The number of control wards purchased by a player or team per minute of game time
Newbie had the highest CWP/M in the LCS with 0.64.
CJ% - Counter Jungle%
The percentage of time a jungler spends in the enemy jungle during minutes 3-15.
At 8.1%, Griffin had the highest CJ% during 2021 LCS Spring.
CK/M - Combined Kills per Minute
The total number of kills in a team's games per minute of game time.
Evil Geniuses had the highest CK/M during the LCS Mid-Season Showdown with 0.92.
CLOSE - Close
The amount of time a team spends with more than 48.5% but less than 51.5% of the total gold in a game between 0 to 40 minutes (or end of game, whichever is sooner).
100 Thieves had the highest CLOSE at 55.1% in 2021 LCS Spring, so their games were fairly contentious
CS - Creep Score
The number of minions killed plus the "score" earned for jungle monsters (i.e. one camp = 4 CS).
PowerOfEvil had 34601 CS in the LCS Spring 2021.
CS/M - Creep Score per Minute
The creep score earned by a player or team per minute of game time
Perkz had the highest CS/M during the LCS Mid-Season Showdown with 9.3.

D

DMG/M-D - Damage per Minute Difference
The difference between a player's damage per minute and their opponent's DMG/M
Svenskeren didn't have the highest DMG/M during the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown, but he did have the highest DMG/M-D at 217
DK - Double Kills
The number of double kills a player has achieved

Tactical had 61 double kills in LCS Spring 2021.

DMG/GOLD - Damage per Gold
Damage dealt to champions per gold earned by a player
FBI's DMG/GOLD was the highest of any player in 2021 LCS Spring at 1.37
DMG/M - Damage per Minute
The amount of damage dealt to champions by a player or team per minute of game time
Perkz had the highest DMG/M during the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown with 571.
DMG%
The portion of damage to champions a player deals out of their team's total damage dealt.
Ruler had the highest DMG% at Worlds 2020 with 32.4%.
DRAKE% - Drake Control
The portion of dragons a team has killed out of how many total dragons were killed in their games
DWG had a 75% DRAKE% at Worlds 2020.
DRAKES - Drakes
The number of Drakes + Dragons taken by a team
TSM killed 227 drakes in LCS Spring 2021.
DTH - Deaths
The total number of deaths earned by a player or team.
SwordArt had 62 deaths at Worlds 2020, the highest at the event.
DUO PROX - Duo Proximity
The percentage of time a bot laner and support are near each other during minutes 3-15. (Range: 1000)
Diamond had an average duo proximity during the LCS Spring 2021 with 57.5%
DPTF - Avg Dmg Per Teamfight
The average damage a player or team outputs per teamfight.

Jiizuke did an average of 400 damage per team fight in LCS Spring2021.

FB KILL - First Blood Kills
The number of times a player earns the first kill of a game
Blaber earned 6 FB kills during the 2021 LCS Spring regular season, the highest of any player
FB% - First Blood Control
The portion of games played in which the team has secured first blood
Fnatic had 82% FB% at Worlds 2020, the highest at the tournament.
FBK+A - First Blood Kills + Assists
The number of first blood kills plus assists a player has earned
Perkz earned the highest FBK+A at 7 of any mid laner during the 2021 LCS spring regular season.
FBP - First Blood Participation
The percentage of games in which a player has earned a first blood kill or assist.
Spica had the highest FB% in the LCS 2021 Mid-Season Showdown with 56%.
FD% - First Dragon Control
The portion of games played in which the team has secured first drake
DWG had the highest FD% with 82% at Worlds 2020.
FH% - First Herald Control
The portion of games played in which the team has secured first herald
TL had a 78% FH% through the 2021 LCS spring regular season, the highest of any team.
FT% - Tower Control
The portion of games played in which the team has secured first tower
Team Liquid had the highest FT% during LCS Spring 2021 with 67.3%.
FWD% - Forward percentage
The percentage of time a player spends across the "halfway point" (their opponent's side) of the lane during minutes 3-15
The top lane average FWD% in 2021 LCS Spring regular season is 32.1%, the highest for any position
FB ASSIST - First Blood Assist
The number of times a player earns an assist on the first kill of a game
Of all junglers, Blaber and Spica were tied for the highest FB assists at 3 during the 2021 LCS Mid-season Showdown
FB DTH - First Blood Deaths
The number of times a player dies giving up first blood to the opponent team
Niles suffered 8 FB Deaths in 2021 LCS Spring, twice as many as almost every other player

GOLD – Gold
Total gold earned by a player or team
Deftly had an average gold total of 15,018 in LCS Spring 2021.
GOLD/M - Gold Earned per Minute
The amount of gold earned by a player or team per minute of game time
FBI had 458 GOLD/M in LCS Spring 2021.
GOLD% - Gold Share
The portion of gold a player earns out of their team's total gold
Lost had 26.9% GOLD% during the LCS 2021 Mid-Season Showdown.
GT - Game Time
A team's average game time
Team Liquid had an average GT of 34.3 in the LCS 2021 Mid-Season Showdown.
GD - Gold Difference
The difference between a player's gold earned and their opponent's gold earned
FBI had 1437 GD@15 in LCS Spring 2021.

H

HERALDS - Rift Heralds
The number of rift heralds taken by a team
Even though C9 and TSM were tied for highest HERALD%, TSM had 20 more HERALDS at 90 during the LCS 2021 Mid-Season Showdown.
HPM - DMG Healed on Team Per Min
The average damage healed on team per minute by a player or team.
SwordArt had an average 49.79 HPM in LCS Spring 2021.
HERALD% - Herald Control
The portion of rift heralds a team has killed out of how many total rift heralds were killed in their games
Cloud9 and TSM had a 63% HERALD% in the LCS 2021 Mid-Season Showdown.

I

ISO DTH - Isolated Deaths
Deaths isolated from teammates (i.e. with none of their own teammates nearby).
Niles had an average of 1.6 per game during LCS Spring 2021.

J

JP - Jungle Proximity
The percentage of time a jungler is near the laner during minutes 3-15
Huhi had a 25% JP in LCS Spring 2021.
JP-D - Jungle Proximity Difference
The difference between a player's JP and their opponent laner's JP
Across 18 games during the 2021 LCS Spring regular season, Iconic had the lowest JP-D at -8%

K

KILL% - Kill share
The portion of a player's team's total kills that they have earned (i.e. their kills / team total kills).
FBI had 38.7% KILL% in LCS Spring 2021.
K/D/A - Scoreline
The kills, deaths, and assists of a player or team
Blaber went 68/40/137 during the LCS Spring 2021.
K+A - Kills + Assists
The sum of a player or team's kills and assists
Perkz earned 189 K+A in LCS Spring 2021.
KDA - KDA Ratio
The ratio of a player or team's kills and assists to deaths
Alphari had a 6.1 KDA in LCS Spring 2021.
KILL - Kills
The total number of kills earned by a player or team
Neo earned 94 kills in the LCS Spring 2021.
KP - Kill Participation
The portion of a player's team's kills in which they have earned a kill or assist
Perkz had a 63.1% KP at MSI 2021.

L

LT - Loss Time
A team's average game time in losses
C9 had the highest LT at 36:02 during the 2021 LCS MSS.

M

MPK - Average minutes between kills
The average minutes a player or team has between kills.
Spica had the highest average minutes between kills outside of supports in the LCS Spring 2021.
M-LEAD - Major Lead
The amount of time a team spends with at least 51.5% of the total gold in a game between 0 to 40 minutes (or end of game, whichever is sooner).
TL's 51% M-LEAD led the LCS in 2021 Spring
ML% - Percent in Mid Lane
The percent of time spent in midlane by a player or team.

Tactical spent 19.3% of game time in midlane in LCS Spring 2021.

MBK - Minutes between Kills
The number of minutes between champion kills for a player or team.

100t had so many kills that game they only had 1 minute between kills.

M-DEFICIT - Major Deficit
Major Deficit. The amount of time a team spends with less than 48.5% of the total gold in a game between 0 to 40 minutes (or end of game, whichever is sooner)
GG's 41% was the largest M-DEFICIT in the LCS during 2021 Spring
MPD - Average minutes between deaths
The average minutes a player or team has between deaths.
Santorin died every 9.9 minutes on average in LCS Spring 2021.

N

NTF - Number of Teamfights
The number of teamfights in a game.

That was an exciting game to watch it had 23 teamfights!

NMK-EJ - Neutral Minion Kills
The number of neutral minions killed by a player or team in the enemy's jungle.
Spica killed 1538 neutral minions in the enemy's jungle in LCS Spring 2021.
NMK - Neutral Minion Kills
The number of neutral minions killed by a player or team.
Santorin killed 17,772 neutral minions in LCS Spring 2021.
NMK-TJ - Neutral Minion Kills
The number of neutral minions killed by a player or team in their team's jungle.
Santorin killed 11,811 neutral minions in his team's jungle in LCS Spring 2021.

O

OPP. TEAM T
The number of towers taken by the opposing team.
On average, FLY and GG suffered 0.8 OPP. TEAM T@15 in 2021 LCS Spring

PRANK - Prev Ranking
Output of the powr performance model of each player, over a series of game powr ratings, at last rank update

PB% - Pick/Ban Rate

POWR is a data driven player and team ranking system created by Factor data scientists to better track player and team skill.

WD - Worthless Deaths
A death that adds no value to the team. For example, a death that is not a trade or in a teamfight.

The number of sight (green) wards placed by a player or team per minute of game time

WK/M - Wards Killed per Minute
