As we near the conclusion of the Group Stage, 4 days of competition remain. Each day will feature a full round robin of each group. While the teams may have played, this is an important time to swap players who did not work out in the first three games with others who should pop off on the final day.
Let’s get into it.
#1 JDG Kanavi
Despite the rocky 3-0 start by JDG and a likelihood that this team drops a game during the day, Kanavi is the only jungler on this team to have a double digit kill game. Dropping a 12-1-9 bomb against EG on their first match.
We don’t expect this to happen again. But there are some junglers who don’t carry with that many kills, they just can’t do it. It’s not in their DNA. But not Kanavi, who played only carry junglers with 2 games of Graves and one of Viego.
So at the very least he will continue to play carry champions and have high kill games, which will yield more points than any other jungler in the group.
#2 DWG Showmaker
For being one of the best midlaners at Worlds some would say he is not delivering to the impossibly high expectations set for him. But in reality he’s playing well, has a strong meta read with Taliyah and Azir, and dropped an 8 kill game..
The close loss to JDG shouldn’t shy you away from this team as them two are the most likely teams to make it out of groups with a serious opportunity to rack in points against G2 and EG.
#3 G2 Caps
G2 will not go down without putting up a fight. And when G2 tries hard they play around their best player, Caps. It’s going to be difficult to take a win against DWG and JDG, but he’s at least moving away from Seraphine which should give him a higher score.
On top of that this G2 lineup is 8-0 against EG between MSI and Worlds. So it seems very likely that G2 at least win another game against EG and Caps gets to repeat his 6-1-6 scoreline against the NA representative.
#4 JDG Hope
Quietly dropping nukes on the teams with a 9 kill Kaisa game and a 5 kill Sivir game this player is sure to deliver. The safe bet with him is that JDG is not shy about picking a Yuumi to back him up.
And if they’re not giving him Yuumi he’s been given a strong balance between peel and engage (Thresh and Rell) which makes it so easy to be an ADC that stays alive and is gifted kills. Perfect for a DFS pick.
#5 EG Inspired
If EG has any chance at making it out of this group then they’ll have to play around the player who appeared most capable, and that is Inspired. While they did go too far giving him Nidalee, it’s safe to imagine they’ll dial it back and pick champions like Graves, Kindred or Viego instead who offer significantly better scaling and utility.
They already know he needs to be on a carry, which means good news for any of you with him on your roster, as playing carry junglers often means big points.
