The Korean Civil war is upon us. LCK vs LCK in a battle for semifinals. GEN are tournament favorites, but DK have some serious momentum from the group stage. The match could be dangerously close. These teams have faced each other 5 times this year and GenG won all of them.
Some of the games were extremely close. In the spring playoffs Damwon threw a 10k lead in game 5!
All this to say, we have plenty of history to address previous top performers to give you the best DFS picks for this series.
#1-GEN Ruler
If GEN wins the World Championship, Ruler will have to go into the hall of fame of all time greats. 2 World Championships in 3 appearances is reaching Faker levels of legendary. Plus, he’s been so good for so long. Remember how his Lucian had 100 CS over 100T’s FBI at 20 minutes?
Or how he’s died 4 times in the last 5 games? DK’s bottom lane is not their strongest role. If Ruler is on his best game, you’re going to be claiming some major points. Plus, it always feels good to know you have one of the best players in the World on your roster.
#2-GEN Chovy
You know him for his mechanical prowess, his impressive gamesense and his consistency in outplaying opponents. He’s been doing that all Worlds long and it doesn’t matter who Chovy is against, you can’t stop him farming, so you won’t stop him being powerful and then outplaying you in teamfights.
It feels so good to see Chovy on a roster that matches his skill level. He is up against a devastatingly good duo in Showmaker and Canyon. But that hasn’t stopped him in the past. It’s usually the jungler who suffers, not him.
#3-DK Showmaker
If there’s someone who can keep up with Chovy it’s world champion Showmaker. With one of the greatest names in LoL and the skills to deliver, the mid lane matchup will bring the fireworks.
He’s played 3 games of Leblanc so far, meaning he’s looking for aggressive plays, and to take kills and snowball. Now that sounds like someone you want on your DFS team!
#4-GEN Peanut
Peanut’s storied career is peaking right now. When he entered the scene we knew he would be a player of epic proportions. Back then he was all mechanics and no brain, so he found himself either benched or surrounded by veterans who could guide him.
Fast forward to now and he’s got the brains, the leadership AND the same mechanics. In one of the most impressive glow-ups, Peanut is the glue to this team and can always do whatever the team needs of him, whether it’s carry with Graves and Vi, or support with a Trundle or a Poppy.
#5-DK Canyon
The right hand of Showmaker doesn’t gap his junglers, he Canyon’s them. If you believe for one second that DK will take some games in this series then you have to play Canyon on DFS. You just have to. Him and Showmaker is how they win!
Here’s what you need to know. He had an 11-0-3 game as Graves vs JDG who are tournament favorites. If he can do that vs one of the tournament favorites. Then he can do it vs GenG as he’s done in the past.
GEN vs DK is happening today, October 22nd at 2pm PST.
