With the transfer of the @ChampionsQueue Twitter account from @WintersWard_, we wanted to put out a brief statement in regards to the future of the account as well as make a few things clear as the new CQ split starts!
First things first, we wanted to thank WintersWard_ (Nick) for all of his hard work and dedication to this account as well as to the entire community. This would not be possible without him and the countless hours and sleepless nights he put into it. Because of this, we want to make sure we keep the account with the same purpose it was created: To support the NA LoL community as well as make it easier for all players (amateur, collegiate, Academy, LCS, etc.) to showcase their twitch streams and dedication to Champions Queue while aiming for a top spot.
Secondly, as was mentioned in the TwitLonger last Sunday, this account will be fully powered by an automated bot that we, the Factor team, created. This will be in the exact same format that was posted previously, with our bot also checking to see which players are live. Because this is an automated bot, there will be bugs, fixes, and potentially some test games that get through (example) We’ll do everything we can to make sure things are fixed as quickly as possible.
Lastly, as some people are probably curious, we wanted to talk about the future! In everything we do, we want to be cognizant of the purpose of the account as well as why it is such a beloved community tool. We will NOT be changing / removing any of the current features. At the heart of it, the account will ALWAYS tweet out live CQ games with their respective live Twitch channels. Eventually we want to add ways to show off more of the top performing players within the community, whether that be their stats, top performances from a specific evening, or even just players who are on a hot streak of winning games!
As part of our goal to do right by the community, we will also be opening Twitter DM’s for any suggestions, feedback, and bug reporting - we want to hear from you!
